Ok, so here are some pics from my quick forray into Salem this Halloween. I plan to improve upon the costume in bits and pieces (like getting an actual leotard for one, lol) as I have time and can afford it, but here's what I've got so far. The tail and wig I put together myself (though it's not finished, I just put an old faux-fur style wig behind the front of the wig I'm working on), everything else I pulled last minute out of an old costume box. I think the make-up is better than in my last attempt as well. Let me know what you think! Full Costume: And one with the tail (if you can make it out amidst the mess of my room) Some close-ups of the make-up: Out on the town in Salem: My fiance, my friend, and me Me and a pair of twins that came out of nowhere Surprise! I don't think many people knew who I was, but a lot of people thought the outfit was cute. One kid did call out, "Hey, he's from Cats!" in passing, so at least it was recognizable for that XD.

Excellent job on the make up this time! Did the Q-tip thing work for you? Cool outfit too! I'm really diggin' the wig

Yes it did, in fact! Thanks for the tip. I agree, it looks much better with the sides and forehead done, and the q-tip was quite helpful with that. And thanks . I am planning to put another layer of yarn on the wig to help fill out the front, and then use hairspray this time (the wind blew it all over the place outside, which I didn't even think of beforehand), but otherwise I'm pleasantly surprised on how it is coming along.

Congrats! Must say he looks much better than mine. And yes, that seems to be a main mistake. Now you can join my group of I-did-Pounce-backwards! ;D

Lol, thanks! I'm happy to join your group! I have a feeling we're not alone in this mistake. We should start a "I did Pouncival backwards!" fanclub or something XD. Eventually I will try to do him the right way 'round, but I think I'm going to try a couple of other characters first. I'm thinking Munkustrap (if I can get up the courage to try), Etcetera, and possibly Rumpleteazer.

Pip...and I tell you this as a friend...YOU MUST BECOME VICTORIA. Seriously, you look so much like her, it's unbelievable. I really must insist you try her make-up. If you are to go to a CATS show near you, Victoria would be the perfect cosplay. You're not performing, so you needn't have Phyllida's ability to touch your ears with your toes. Really...think about it, you'd be perfect for it! (BTW, cute Pouncy make-up!)

You really think so Roach? I guess I've never really considered it. Victoria isn't one of my favorites, but since you are so enthusiastic, I will definitely add her on to the list to try! I may even do her relatively soon, if I can find some good reference pics. Unfortunately I can't afford the time or the money to do more than one costume right now, so I'll have to hold off on the cosplay aspect, but thanks for the suggestion (maybe by then I WILL be able to touch my ears with my toes...NOT, lol).

I REALLY think so. I would feel much better after seeing you as such, and I'm certain you'll see what I'm talking about. Seriously, people who are familiar with the film will mistake you for Phyll's little sister (and if you're a Mistoffelees fan, why WOULDN'T you want to be Victoria?) I'm gonna snag one of your pics of you as Misto and put it with a pic of Victoria just to show you what I'm talking about (I'll do it tomorrow). I personally think Victoria is a beautiful cat and Phyllida is a very pretty girl. If you're fortunate enough to look like her, take advantage of it! I'll even give you personal Vicky-make-up tips if you'd like^^

I would love some Vicky tips on the make-up! I'm in the process of finding good pictures so that I can do it hopefully this week, but I still don't have a real good grasp on it yet. I do have a question off the top of my head though: Is her nose pink? Or is it just bare skin where the white has been omitted? Not looking forward to trying to have to do the feathering all around her face XD, lol.

Yes, her nose is pink and also the area around her eyes, but that's a bit darker, actually more like brown and pink^^ Now that Roach spoke it out I must say I totally agree; you have the perfect Victoria-face!

Thank you, Tricia! Glad I'm not the only one who saw that And yes, Vickie's nose is pink and her eyeshadow is a dark maroon.

Okay, so here is my first (hurried) attempts at Victoria for you all. I'm not entirely happy with it. For one, I think I brought the make-up far too far towards the edges of my face, I had trouble with the feathering, and something just doesn't seem right to me. I had a crappy picture to work off of, so if anybody has a good make-up pic for Vicky I would love to see it!! Also, please, tips for making it better? Thanks . I will try to do it better later if I can get some good ideas on what to fix. Just as perfect as I imagined it. You look so much like her, it's unbelievable. Now, tips! 1) Don't forget the black line down her nose & around her lips that curls into a little cat mouth. 2) Feathering: Depends on the type of make-up you're using. Do you paint it on or is it powder? If it's paint, purchase a very small brush. The white goes from the bottom of her chin (don't forget the feathering on her chin, too!) & around her face about 2 inches from her hairline. The white on the face is sort of shaped like a sunburst as the lines are very thin, like sun rays. If it's powder (this would make it harder), color your face white in the proper areas and use a Q-tip (moistened) to erase some of the edges out to make lines. Eye Shadow: A shade or two darker, more like a maroon-color. Give me a day or so to collect some good Vicky screenies from my DVD so I can show you what I'm talking about. Like I said, you look perfect as Victoria. I want so bad to Photoshop a Vicky-wig on your pics XD

Ack! I totally forgot the black on the mouth XD *hangs head in shame* I will definitely try again after you post some pics . I will see what I can do about the eyeshadow color. This time I used a thick eyebrow pencil. I'm not sure if I have the right color, but I'll have to see if I can maybe combine colors to make something more suitable. And feel free to photoshop/play with pictures as you like, lol.
