Okay, so i figure there will be heaps of theories on how Grizabella is reborn, but this is mine and what will most likely be used.
Once you are in the Heaviside layer, you have until the next Jellicle Ball to be reborn. Depending on how good you were in your previous life depends on how much choice you get in being reborn. Because Grizabella was good at heart but led a fairly low life, she gets to chose where she is reborn, but nothing else (Grizabella's player must discuss this with others to see how she will be born).
My other important theory: A cats 'third name' is the name from their previous life, and when it is contemplated they are exploring memories from their past life. Most cats don't ever remember their previous life fully, but some mystical cats, elder cats, or cats with far too much time on their hands :(p) do learn quite a lot.

The first one I like pretty much , the second one I must confess that I don't understand it completely ...

Lets see if I can explain it better: "But above and beyond there's still one name left over, and that is the name that you never will guess, the name that no human research can discover, but that cat himself knows and will never confess. When you notice a cat in profound meditation the reason i tell you is always the same, his mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation of the thought of his name." A cats third name is the name they had in the life before (so when Grizabella is reborn, her third name will be Grizabella.) Whenever they contemplate their third name, memories from their past life come back to them. It's against the rules to just go around telling everyone though I think.

I disagree with you guys, the second theory makes much more sense to me, and makes me contemplate. It's an amazing theory ((: The first one is good too though but I would much prefer the second one.
